Experience CARE - The Best Weekend Respite Program for Individuals with I/DD, and Their Caregivers

The no-cost weekend respite program, CARE, is a collaboration between Grow Associates and The Arc of the South Shore. CARE offers person-centered respite services and support to family caregivers of individuals with I/DD, including Autism. This comprehensive program includes transportation, caregiver support groups, peer-to-peer mentoring, skill development, community outings, and engaging activities like Sensational Story Time Yoga, Exploring Animation, and How to Prepare a Meal.

Weekend CARE

CARE is a day program at no cost to you, offered on select weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, from 9am- 3pm. CARE runs nearly every other weekend through February 2025. Sign up for any CARE weekend(s), although priority will be given to those who sign-up for full cycles of 10 sessions. CARE will enroll up to 30 individuals per session, aged 18+. With a total of 66 weekend programs offered, you'll have plenty of opportunities to experience our no-cost CARE weekend respite program.

Convenient Location

CARE takes place at Grow Associates' 50,000 square foot facility, located at 68 Mazzeo Drive in Randolph, conveniently located off Routes 24 and 139. Free transportation to and from the program may be available depending upon your location. Comprehensive Respite Services

The CARE Initiative offers a variety of services and activities to enhance the well-being of individuals with I/DD and their caregivers. We offer caregiver support groups, transportation services, and peer-to-peer mentoring to enhance the overall quality of life for families across the region.

Individualized Skill Development

Participants receive personalized plans to develop essential skills, such as independent living, social and self-advocacy communication, and culinary abilities. It's a great time to build new friendships.

Engaging Activities and Outings

Our CARE Initiative provides a variety of engaging activities such as How to Prepare a Meal, Sensational Story Time Yoga, and Exploring Animation. Community outings include grocery shopping, walks on park trails, visits to shops and area community resources such as Farmers' Markets. Participant and caregiver feedback will help shape the offerings as well.
